It is planned that all the TV broadcasting is switched to digital by July next year in Japan. It means that every old analog TV set in our home becomes just a dam box after the switching. We need to purchase a new digital TV set and change the antenna by the time. It's a really big change but still a lot of people, almost half of the Japanese people, have not done anything about that. Some people don't even know about this change and some can't afford to change their TV sets. TV broadcasting is still a big media, however, quite a few people, especially old people who watch TV every day from morning to night, will be left alone after the switching. They might develop into a riot! In my case, I rarely watch TV and it's no problem for me if all the TV broadcasting stopped right now. So, I am wickedly looking forward to see what happens after the switching. I also think that the change is a good stimulation for those who are addicted to TV.
