I came back to Tokyo last week. It's already mid October, but it's still hot and humid here. I feel its weather is almost the same as the mid summer in Kushiro. On one of the hottest days, I walked around the city with my friend. We met up at Shinjuku station in the morning and after having sushi lunch we walked around Shinjuku Gyoen Park. It's a big public park which is located in the center of Shinjuku City. I've been living in Shinjuku almost always since I was born, but I have no memory of having visited this park. It was bigger than I expected. The sun was brighter and I sweat a lot. We tried to lie down on a lawn, but some mosquitoes interrupted our pleasant nap. We soon moved to Koenji by subway with a lot of working people dressed in a suite and tie. It's a very common fashion of Japanese salarymen which I myself was decades ago, but I was assured that I couldn't go back to the "common" world. I can't put on a tie any more and I have even never put on a pair of socks this summer! When we were walking along a long shopping mall in Koenji, we came across this mother and baby's nap. It looks peaceful but a danger is just around the corner.
