Who is the King of the Earth?

We human beings believe that we are on the top of the food chain. We won't doubt that we are the king of the earth, but is that true? The number of all the insects on the earth will be millions times as large as the world population. We are the looser at this point. Sure, we can think, speak and create things, but they can fly, live under the ground and survive severe environment where we can't live even for minutes. The structure of insects' body is simpler than ours, but our body is far from perfect; we have an appendix, a coccyx and wisdom teeth which are all useless. If a man fights with a bee, it will be a fair match just like a fight between a cobra and a mongoose; no one can predict which wins the game. Cockroaches are said to survive after an atomic war. It might be our arrogance that we are the king of this planet. This is my rambling thinking I had when I found this wasp on the river side.
