This is a high-tech car watching system called "N system." It records all the number-plates which ran under the camera so that police can see as soon as any wanted car is found. This system is set at more than 600 hundred points on major roads all around Japan. Sure, it is very effective and quite a few criminals were actually arrested thanks to this system, but a lot of people including me feel something grim because police can use it anytime to watch ordinary people. How can our privacy be protected? Unfortunately, our police are not so trustworthy and they are possibly going to use it for other purposes beside criminal investigation. It's nothing but the world of "1984" by George Orwell and what I feel most weird is that few people say something about this dangerous issue. It might be that those who tried to say something have already settled by the Authority.
