Curry on rice is one of the most popular menu items for Japanese. It is so popular that there are lots of curry restaurants even in a small city and I found a very good local curry restaurant chain in Obihiro. I heard that everyone living in Obihiro City knows this restaurant chain and has enjoyed it since he or she was a child. We Japanese share a common image that India is the country of curry and every Indian wears a turban on his head. This restaurant uses the image on its name and logo; the name of the restaurant chain is literally "Indian!" When I had the menu item in this restaurant for the first time, I was surprised at its quality and price and it has become my favorite restaurant in Obihiro. The curry itself is typical Japanese one; way stickier than the real Indian curry and contains beef which is of course impossible in India. Now I'm in Tokyo and I really miss this "Indian Curry" in Obihiro City.
