Japan is now in the midst of rainy season. It is also reported that the largest typhoon in the history is coming close. In this situation, the newspaper delivery service is very helpful. We can get a newspaper without being soaked, but don't you have an experience that you couldn't read a soaked newspaper in a rainy day? When I was in Canada, I often came across a scene that a rolled newspaper was thrown from a running car to the outside of a front door of a house. They have to pick it up into the house in a rainy day if they want to read the newspaper dry. Fortunately in Japan, at least in my area, we don't have to worry about such a thing. Every newspaper is wrapped in a plastic bag so that it won't get wet in a rainy day and we don't have to pay any additional cost for it. What a great and kind service! What I feel most after coming back to Tokyo is that the service quality is generally higher here than in any other countries I have visited. As you know, Japanese yen is very low now and foreign visitors to this country can enjoy the great services at very reasonable prices.
