Canadian people seem to love peanut butter. I have often seen my Canadian friends enjoy it on a piece of toast as his breakfast. It is such a popular item to be categorized on the same level as jam in most supermarkets. Of course I know how it tastes, but it isn't a special menu item for most Japanese. It might have been less than three times a year that I had it in Japan. When I was walking around my favorite supermarket tonight, I happened to find bottles of peanut butter occupying a couple of shelves. I decided to try one of them but I had no idea which brand is good. As I was reading the description on the bottles, an old man, who was not the sales person in the supermarket, came to me and recommended this bottle. I accepted his kindness and took one of them into my shopping cart. Now I have tried it with a pair of toasted English muffin. It wasn't so sweat as I had expected and I had no special feeling to this brand. It is no more than peanut butter and that's all. Leaving its taste aside, I have one anxiety concerning with peanut butter. That is to say, peanut is a super high calorie food. I remember an experiment in my elementary school; a cup of water could be boiled with only five pieces of peanut! I don't think it is so tasty that we can forget about its calories.
