Vancouver is still in a rush to build condos. If they would be built in this pace for more decades, Downtown would be like Manhattan. As we have few earthquakes here, new high rises can be easily built in a short term. I was surprised to see this building which has grown several floors taller in a few weeks. It seems to be half empty with a few and thin columns. I doubt it would last if a strong earthquake occurred. The most scary thing is that it would happen tomorrow. No one can deny the possibility but no one is really worrying about it. Anyway, what is the empty box at the left bottom of this picture? If someone kicked the column, it would easily collapse. It's just like a full-scale Jenga Tower. I only hope it wouldn't break in my turn.
