After traveling around Vancouver and Victoria for three days with my family from Japan, I flew to Calgary with them to visit the Canadian Rocky Mountains. We stayed in Canmore for three nights and drove around Banff, Lake Louise and Columbia Ice Field. The weather was not good, but we could sometimes see the blue sky from the rift in the clouds. The Rocky Mountains were beautiful with the snow which fell three days before our visit. Sure we have snow mountains, lakes and even glacier in Japan, but the scale is absolutely different, and we enjoyed them very much. Unfortunately as my mother broke her leg one month before and she was on a wheel chair this time, we couldn't hike and only drove around, but it was enough for the first visit. I'm thinking about visiting there again by myself in my car. It would be wonderful to drive and hike around this area spending some more days.
