We have a lot of tourists in Vancouver now, and most of them, especially ones from Japanese, seem to live in a different way; the way they spend time and money is quite different from resident's way. They are interested mostly in how many famous tourist spots they can visit within their itineraries, and they would pay as much money as they are offered. Of course I don't deny or despise their ways, because it's quite natural to do so with a guidebook information only listing a number of tourist spots, but I don't like to travel in such ways by my self. As I am contrary nature, I rarely visit famous tourist sites even if I am traveling very close. I prefer walking around a strange town, taking a nap on a pleasant park bench and sipping a cup of coffee at a cozy looking cafe. In this way, I can have richer time with less money. All you need is giving away the threatening sense that you have to visit tourist spots. Although I have lived in Vancouver for almost three years in total, I still have a lot of places I have never visited.
