The car inspection system in Canada is called AirCare, which is much simpler and more reasonable than Shaken in Japan. Today, I took AirCare for the third time. It was very easy - driving to the AirCare center in North Vancouver, passing the car registration document and paying $47, stopping the car on a huge drum at the gate, and waiting for the stuff checking the emission gas. It took only 10 minutes in total, that's all. As the name shows, this AirCare inspection is limited to checking the emission gas. Your car passes as far as its emission pollution level is within the acceptable range. It's quite different from the Japanese Shaken, in which every thing is checked including the break, light, engine, tires, and so on. To be surprised, I hear that they don't even have to take AirCare in remote area. I doubt the necessity of Shaken system in Japan. Cars can run for longer time with no trouble.
