I went to Seattle to change my visa status. It was a three hour pleasant drive from Vancouver. On the way I had to pass the border between Canada and the United States. It was just like a toll gate of highways in Japan. I passed it after a-few-ten-second interview and I didn't even have to get out of the car. Very easy and smooth. It was interesting to see the slight difference before and after the border. When I cross it from Canada to U.S., the distance unit changes from metric to miles, the grip of roads are getting better, the number of lanes are increasing from two to three, and the number of ramshackle cars are reducing. All these things contribute to the increasing of average car speed. I think this is symbolically showing the difference between Canada and U.S.
