It was fine, cool, and windy Sunday and I enjoyed sailing in English Bay on my boat for the first time after the lifting up maintenance. The wind was south west which means inflowing and on the condition, waves are to generated by the wind blowing over the long distance of Straight of Georgia. I enjoyed so called surfing with my boat on the waves. Usually the speed of a sailing boat is limited up to 7 to 8 knots because of the keel drag. I can't sail with my boat more than 7 knots if the wind is strong enough, however when I surf with my boat, I can sail more than 7 knots because the wave speed is added to the sailing speed. Surfing is one the most pleasant sailing experience.
nice pics
what kind of boat are you sailing?
have you sailed here from somewhere else?

todd,
My boat is Sun Juan 24 which is 25 years old. I was sailing around Gulf Islands last year on my boat, but I don't like to sail across the Straight of Georgia because it is boring. When I was a student of a sailing school in Vancouver two years ago, I sailed from Victoria to Desolation Sound. Anyways, are you possibly a kind of instructor?
