Kathy Hand

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. I've missed reading your posts. I'm curious, also, about your trip to Japan. How long will you be there? Are you planning to return to Vancouver soon? One of the things that makes your blog so interesting (to me, at least) is that it provides an "outsider's view" of western culture. So many things are taken for granted when you grow up with them. It is fun to hear what others think about our environment.

Best wishes for a continued recovery!

Although I was thinking about going back to Vancouver by this Christmas, it seems now impossible because of this terrible backache. But I'm going back by January. I really miss Vancouver.

The condition of my backache is getting better very gradually. It seems to be going three steps forwards and two steps backwards. At first I couldn't even sit down on a chair, but now I can face towards my lap-top computer for a very short time. Unfortunately I can't walk even 20 meters yet, but it is enough to take a round trip to the washroom in my house. The doctor told to me to have a complete rest. I don't know exactly what that means. Should I always keep lying down on the bed? If so, it is hell for me because my muscles are shrinking away painfully. While the pain is overwhelming me, I can't do anything. And when it went away for sometime, I really think that health is the most important thing. I won't forget that without health I can never live a happy life. I have to be more careful about my health. I have to accept that I'm not young and I can't overwork.
