I took this picture today in Stanley Park. It is snow! Can you believe it? It is still September. It has certainly been cool these last few days, but it was never icy cold. The lowest temperature was 8 degrees. There's no snow even on the mountain tops in North Vancouver. In spite of all that, this is snow. What happened here? This snow was spread about 30 meters along the road in Stanley Park. I could find no snow in other areas. So, my hypothesis is this; Vancouver is a popular place for film making, and some movie guys shot a snow scene here, and they left artificial snow in the park.
