Last night I enjoyed the first fireworks this year in my friend's room. His room has a great view. It is on the 24th floor of an apartment on Davie. It is a corner room which faces southwest. So we can see North and West Vancouver, Lions Gate Bridge, Stanley Park, Downtown Vancouver, and English Bay at the same time. More than fifteen people gathered in his room and enjoyed a potluck party and the fireworks. The room was so high that we didn't need to look up at the fireworks, we saw them at eye level. A few buildings on the beach shut out the lower part of the set pieces, and they looked as if they were being blown up in the exploding flames of the fireworks.
