Yesterday, I had an injection of hepatitus in the walk-in medical on Davie. As you know, there are some types of hepatitus such as hepatitus A or hepatatitus B, so I had to have two shots in my both arms. Furthermore, we need this vaccination against hepatitus three times, the second one after one month, and the third one after six months. It is unbelievable! What a nasty piece hepatitus is!
We can see a lot of benches in Stanley Park. Do you know how they are placed and maintained? They are kept by donations from Vancouver citizens. If you pay some money to the park -- I hear it costs about $2,500 -- the park will place a new bench with a plate on which you can curb any message you like. For example, when Bob dies, his wife donates to the park and places a new bench with words like "IN LOVING MEMORY OF BOB". And the wife can often visit the bench and recall her husband. This is a very nice system to keep parks well I think. A few days ago, I read Japanese news on the Internet and found an article which says that one park in Tokyo started this system too.
I love mangoes. It was when I was a hich school student that I ate this tropical fruit for the first time in my life. I remember how I was happy to taste it and I guessed about tropical islands far away where this fruit is grown. In Japan, you know, foreign fruits like mangoes are very expensive because of its high tariff. A mango is priced at about 200 yen which is about 1 Canadian dollar(85 yen) in Canada and less than 10 peso(20 yen) in the Philippines. I can't believe this value difference! Anyway I like this fruit because of its taste, smell and feel. Only one thing that I don't like about it is the large seed. I wish there were seedless mangoes.
It is raining almost alday today and there is nobody in the hockey rink playing hockey. Usually here, a lot of people enjoy hockey, rollerblading or skateboarding, and make some noises. But it is very quiet today. I can hear just the noises of cars running on wet roads far away. Surely I don't like rain, but occasional rain like this is not bad.
These are boat houses in Fals Creek. They are renting a marina and floating their house in the docking space. Water, power and cable are supplied in the marina. And they say they can receive a mail because their own mail boxes are also equiped in the marina. They can live a life just as pleasant as on the land. Thought I have seen a lot of riverside houses in the Philippines' slams, these houses are totally different from them.
This is Doug and his boat Lazuri. Lazuri and my hana hou are almost same type boats. He realy likes sailing. Though he works for one jewelry shop in Downtown he is sailing almost every day. He is the ex-owner of hana hou and he often gives me advices about boat. I appreciate it. But he is almost always drinking on the boat. I know it is very pleasant but a little bit dangerous.
This evening I enjoyed sunset cruising alone in English Bay. In this season the sun never sets until 9 PM in Vancouver, so we can enjoy daysailing in the evening. Today especially modest wind and some alcohol made the cruising by far most pleasant. I met with Doug and his friend Tim on the sea. Everybody was a little bit drunk and happy.
What's this food? Well, I don't know exactly. When I went to Crystall Mall, which is adjacent to Metrotown, I had this strange food at the Chinese food court. The sales person only spoke Chinese and I couldn't understand what she was saying, so I ordered this food just by body language. I'm sure it contains meatballs and broccolies, but I can't recognize any other gradients. The crunchy objects which I guessed as squid was maybe pig ears!
